In our quest to grow closer and more intimate with Jesus Christ, we have the unique opportunity in Small Groups to study a wide variety of curriculum focused on many aspects of our journey in life. The curriculum in our library includes studies of numerous books of the Bible, various characters in the Bible, discipleship, getting to really know God, leadership, life's challenges, recovery, marriage and intimacy, parenting, prayer, serving God, missions and many other topics. We also often use books and videos for Small Groups study, and again our FBC Library is an excellent source.
In addition to the curriculum that the church provides through the FBC Library for check-out and use by both individuals and groups, we also allow members to bring forward books and studies they have found in their research for group study. We do, however, require that all curriculum brought in must be approved by one of our pastors or a curriculum review team. All new curriculums, books or other studies should be brought to the Small Groups office for this review process. This process preserves the integrity of the FBC doctrine and ensures that the curriculum studied meets our church standards.
While Small Groups have a high degree of flexibility in selecting curriculum, the Pastor will occasionally select a curriculum for a church-wide study. This allows the entire church to focus on a specific topic or issue. The study will be supported from the pulpit during Sunday morning worship and then followed up for in-depth discussions in our Small Groups. During these events, we are hopeful that all Small Groups participate in the church-wide study.
